Every child deserves to have a family of his or her own. Adoption is one way to bring together children who need families and families who want to parent children. Our children range in age from infancy to adolescence. Some children need families who are able to adopt a group so that siblings can grow up together.
The process of becoming an adoptive parent is standardized throughout Ontario. It includes a thorough training program, and an in-depth assessment called a “home study.” There is no cost involved with adopting a child through a Children's Aid Society.
The Kawartha-Haliburton Children's Aid Society's Adoption Department is one-third of a Regional Team that works collaboratively with the Adoption Departments of Hastings Children's Aid Society and Northumberland Children's Aid Society. Working together means having more resources and making the best possible matches for our children.
