Urgent Call for Community Support
Although our main focus continues to be providing children with positive life enriching experiences, we have had to adjust our programming to meet the new challenges the COVID-19 virus has created.
For children at risk, isolation can be devastating. Fear and uncertainty affects children of abuse and neglect at an intensified level. Away from the watchful eyes and guidance of outside support, these children are struggling.
Soaking Up Summer Program
Every summer the foundation sends close to 200 children involved with the Kawartha Haliburton Children’s Aid Society to summer camp. However, due to social isolation, camps may not be operating at full capacity this summer, or at all. After months of social isolation our most vulnerable children and youths desperately need to engage in outdoor physical activities.
Soaking up Summer is a program that provides at risk children with activities and equipment to get them outside in the sun shine! Your donation to this program will provide children with outdoor equipment such as skateboards, scooters, helmets, sprinklers, lawn games, sidewalk chalk, water bottles, sunscreen, and of course, bubbles!

Emergency Grocery Gift Card Program
After an urgent request from the Kawartha-Haliburton Children’s Aid Society, we started a Gift Card Program to include families and kinship providers whose children relied on school food programs. Families are now struggling more than ever to put food on the table. Many of which have also lost their jobs, or are occurring other financial burdens directly related to COVID- 19.
Through thee gift card program we are helping to stabilize the most urgent food insecurities for hundreds families with children, and former In-Care youth living with out parental support.
