The Kawartha-Haliburton Children’s Aid Society is often involved with children who require educational assistance due to developmental or learning differences that can be difficult to accommodate in the school system. Through the Educational Assistance Fund, the Foundation has been able to offer funding for children who require the purchase of specialized computer hardware and software, or any needed forms of assistive technology not funded by the education system or the Kawartha-Haliburton Children’s Aid Society. In some circumstances, funding assistance has even been provided for tuition in a private or specialized school setting. Additionally, funds have been allocated for tutoring and special educational programs to assist the development of students involved in such areas as the performing arts.
