1. What is the Kawartha-Haliburton Children\u2019s Foundation and how do you differ from the Kawartha-Haliburton Children’s Aid Society?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Kawartha-Haliburton Children\u2019s Foundation is the arms-length foundation of the KHCAS. We raise funds to assist children, youth and families supported by our local Children’s Aid Society in order to provide them with enrichment opportunities for which they do not receive government funding, as a means to strengthen their capacity and reach their full potential.\u00a0 We cannot address or respond to any concerns about a child and ask that you please call 705-743-9751.<\/p>\n

2. What is your charitable registration number?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Kawartha-Haliburton Children\u2019s Foundation\u2019s Charitable Registration number is 118978139 RR0002.<\/p>\n

3. When was the Kawartha-Haliburton Children\u2019s Foundation founded?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Kawartha-Haliburton Children\u2019s Foundation was founded in 1982 and received our charitable status in 1983.<\/p>\n

4. Who does the Kawartha-Haliburton Children\u2019s Foundation benefit?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Foundation benefits children, youth and families that are supported by the Kawartha-Haliburton Children\u2019s Aid Society in Peterborough County, the City of Kawartha Lakes and Haliburton County.<\/p>\n

5. What types of programs does the Foundation fund?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Foundation\u2019s primary focus is to assist those who need our help the most \u2013 disadvantaged children and youth.\u00a0 The Foundation is committed to a financial allocation to a wide variety of life-enriching programs ranging from dance and music lessons to sports activities, from our Summer Camp Program to our bursary program.<\/p>\n

6. How do I make a donation?<\/strong><\/p>\n

You can make a one-time gift, monthly donation, a gift in someone\u2019s name, or in memory by completing the online donation form. You can also donate securities through Canada Helps.\u00a0 You will receive a tax receipt via email following your online donation.<\/p>\n

You may also donate by calling 705-743-9751 or by sending a cheque payable to the Kawartha-Haliburton Children\u2019s Foundation, 1100 Chemong Road, Peterborough, ON K9H 7S2.\u00a0 Once the donation has processed, a tax receipt will be mailed to you.<\/p>\n

7. How do I become a Corporate Sponsor?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Corporate Sponsors play an integral role in the success of our fundraising events.\u00a0 To become involved in supporting our Santa\u2019s Sleigh in Peterborough, please contact the Foundation’s Executive Director, Carrie Truman at 705-743-9751 ex. 1317 to find out how you can help.<\/p>\n

8. Where do you receive your funding from?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Kawartha-Haliburton Children\u2019s Foundation does not receive any Ontario Ministry funding.\u00a0 We rely solely on the generosity of private and public foundations, corporate sponsorship, and donations from local businesses and individuals.<\/p>\n

9. How many children are served by these programs?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Approximately 1,200 children living in Peterborough County, the City of Kawartha Lakes and Haliburton County are assisted each year through the programs and services funded by the Kawartha-Haliburton Children\u2019s Foundation.<\/p>\n

10. When I donate a gift to Santa\u2019s Sleigh where does it go from there?<\/strong><\/p>\n

We are so fortunate to have the incredible network of social workers employed by the Kawartha-Haliburton Children\u2019s Aid Society to distribute gifts to the children they regularly visit.<\/p>\n
