{"id":2679,"date":"2018-04-10T18:59:11","date_gmt":"2018-04-10T18:59:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.khcas.on.ca\/foundation\/?page_id=2679"},"modified":"2025-01-20T13:50:15","modified_gmt":"2025-01-20T13:50:15","slug":"bursary-application","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.khcas.on.ca\/foundation\/bursary-application\/","title":{"rendered":"BURSARY APPLICATIONS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Click <a href=\"https:\/\/www.khcas.on.ca\/foundation\/bursary-application-form\/\">HERE <\/a>to find the application form for the Margaret Davies Bursary<\/p>\n<p>The Margaret Davies Bursary Fund was established in 2005 in honour of KHCF founder Margaret Davies. \u00a0Prior to the KHCF bursary program\u2019s inception, it was rare for youth in transition from care into independent living to pursue a post-secondary education.<\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, the life-enriching programs offered by the Foundation, such as our annual summer camp program, have demonstrated an indirect positive effect on the number of students attending post-secondary institutions. \u00a0All of our ongoing programs are designed to help build self-awareness, self-esteem, and self-confidence, which encourage children and youth to pursue their dreams and to reach their goals in life.<\/p>\n<p>Education is one key to developing life skills and workplace readiness. \u00a0With the supports offered by the Foundation today, many more youth transition from their Kawartha-Haliburton Children\u2019s Aid Society support programs to attend post-secondary education or job training programs.<\/p>\n<p>Every year, the Foundation provides bursaries to all youth in transition who are pursuing post-secondary education.
