Music is generally recognized for its therapeutic value, and involvement in its pursuit can only increase self-esteem. Giving children music or dance lessons gives children a lifelong gift. To celebrate our deep appreciation of over a decade of generous support from Nellie’s daughter and the Glen Colborne Fund at the Toronto Foundation, we are proud to have named our music and dance program after Nellie Mellish. \u00a0We hope to capture Nellie’s spirit as a hard-working rural Canadian with a passion for the performing arts by providing development opportunities for disadvantaged children and youth to receive training of their choice, to any level.
