When a child can’t live safely at home

Children who can no longer live safely with their parents do better when they can stay with people they already know and trust — a grandparent, an aunt or uncle, or another caring adult in their life.

Staying connected to family and familiar faces helps children feel safer, more stable, and less alone during an incredibly difficult time.  This is what happens in Kinship Care

What is the Kinship Program?

The Kinship Program supports children who are placed with family members or trusted adults instead of being placed with strangers. These caregivers step in quickly, often with little warning. They say yes because a child they love needs them.

But families caring for children through the Kinship Care receive far less financial support than foster parents do — even when children arrive with urgent, immediate needs. That means caregivers often have to cover the cost of basics like clothing, food, bedding, and school supplies on their own.

How you can help – Give to our Thrive Fund

You can help make sure these families receive support needed to provide essential items like clothing, winter coats, shoes, and school snacks to kids in Kinship care. Your gift to the Thrive Fund will help provide essential items for children so caregivers can focus on keeping kids safe, stable, and cared for — not worrying about how to pay for what’s needed. When caregivers are supported, children can remain with people they know, in homes filled with care and love.

Please give to the Thrive Fund today. A gift today is a meaningful way to support children when they need it most. By giving to the Kinship Program, you help keep kids safe, connected, and loved.

 Please give today.
