Every year, the KHCF Summer Camp Program offers every child receiving services from the Kawartha-Haliburton Children’s Aid Society with either a one-week residential or two-week day camp experience. The Summer Camp Fund allows the child to choose between a number of camps, where they are included without distinction despite coming from very difficult life circumstances. Alongside their peers, our campers are able to experience the joy and excitement of summer camp.
Children with physical and/or behavioral difficulties are also supported through this program. Children who have met barriers in the past are now able to attend a traditional camp and experience summer in an environment specifically suited to their needs.
Since 1993, donors have sent over 5,748 children to summer camp.
