After the success of last year’s event, we will once again be running the Send a Kid to Camp AXE-Travaganza Fundraiser! Last year’s event brought 65 participants to the Peterborough Axe Club, where the incredible staff taught the players the fine art of “chucking steel”. In addition, 29 balloons were sold at the balloon pop and there were 17 items up for silent auction all donated by local businesses. With these, a generous pizza donation from East Side Mario’s, our incredible sponsors, and the donation of 50% of the night’s proceeds from the Axe Club, we raised over $10,000, enough to send 26 children to summer camp. This year’s event will once again be happening at the Peterborough Axe Club (280 Perry Street, Unit 1), on May 11th with a start time of 7:00 PM sharp! The Peterborough Pop Ensemble is throwing it back to the 60s and 70s with their “Hip to the Groove” Concert, Saturday April 28th at 7:30 PM at the Market Hall Performance Center! In this concert, the Ensemble will pay tribute to some of the most influential artists in music history. Tickets are $23 or $13 for students, and a portion of the proceeds come back to the Children’s Foundation. Today we will be presented with a very generous donation from the Rexall Foundation. The donation will allow for us to send many children receiving services from the Kawartha-Haliburton Children's Aid Society to camp this summer! We truly appreciate this amazing generosity!
