Every year, the KHCF Summer Camp Program offers every child receiving services from the Kawartha-Haliburton Children’s Aid Society either a one-week residential or two-week day camp experience. Summer Camp Fund provides for children to attend a number of existing area camps where they are included without distinction despite coming from very difficult life circumstances. Along with all of the other children our campers get caught up in the joy and excitement of this summer experience. Our camp program has recently been able to offer attendance to camps which serve children with physical and/or behavioral difficulties, enabling those children who might meet with barriers to attendance at a traditional camp to experience summer camp in an environment specifically suited to their needs.

While our major fund raising event is the Dream Ball for funding summer camp experiences, individual and corporate donations also provide for a significant number of children to attend each year. In 2018, the KHCF Summer Camp Program supported 184 children who attended various types of camps, at a cost of $107,799. Since 1993, the Foundation has enabled over 4,500 children to attend summer camp.
