Every year, the KHCF Summer Camp Program offers every child receiving services from the Kawartha-Haliburton Children’s Aid Society with either a one-week residential or two-week day camp experience. The Summer Camp Fund allows the child to chose between a number of camps where they are included without distinction despite coming from very difficult life circumstances. Along side their peers, our campers are able to experience the joy and excitement of a week at summer camp.
Children with physical and/or behavioral difficulties are also supported through this program. Children who have met barriers in the past, are now able to attend a traditional camp, and experience summer in an environment specifically suited to their needs.

While major fundraising events and annual donors make up for a large portion of summer camp experiences, individual and corporate donations also provide for a significant number of children to attend each year. In 2019, the KHCF Summer Camp Program supported 193 children to attended various types of camps. Since 1993, donors have sent over 4,690 children to summer camp.
