Supporting Children and Youth Involved with the Kawartha Haliburton Children's Aid Society

2021 Santa’s Sleigh Press Release

Help Put a Smile on a Child’s Face this Holiday Season!

Peterborough, ON – (Nov 25, 2021) The Kawartha-Haliburton Children’s Foundation in conjunction with the Peterborough & Kawarthas Association of Realtors (PKAR), East Peterborough Lions Club, and media partner The Wolf 101.5 FM, Global Peterborough and 100.5 Fresh Radio is excited to announce the launch of the 2021 Santa’s Sleigh on Thursday, November 25th at 3 PM.

For the past 32 years, the Kawartha Haliburton Children’s Foundation has helped make Christmas brighter for local children and youth who are involved with the Kawartha-Haliburton Children’s Aid Society through the Santa’s Sleigh program.

This year, Santa’s Sleigh launches on Thursday, November 25th at 3 pm and ends Monday,  December 6th at noon. Our long-time partner, Walmart on Chemong Road continues to be our gift collection point.

“We are inviting the community to choose a child’s name, with a gift suggestion of their choice, from our tree, and then purchase that gift in order to fulfill their Christmas wish” says Carrie Truman, Executive Director of the Kawartha-Haliburton Children’s Foundation. “This gift will go directly to the child in our community, so that together we can put a smile on their face Christmas morning.”

We are accepting donations of physical gifts, as well gift cards and monetary donations. Monetary donations will be used to purchase gift cards for children and families who are involved with the Kawartha-Haliburton Children’s Aid Society. The most important message we can give local at-risk children and their families is one of hope. Thanks to our generous donors, there will still be that special gift to open this holiday season!

For additional details or to make an online monetary donation directed towards the Santa’s Sleigh Program, please visit www.khcas.on.ca/foundation.
