Kawartha-Haliburton Children’s Foundation Launches Fund in partnership with the Community Foundation
Wednesday, May 4, Peterborough
The Community Foundation of Greater Peterborough is pleased to announce the creation of the Kawartha-Haliburton Children’s Fund, a new partnership with the Kawartha-Haliburton Children’s Foundation. The fund will help provide enrichment opportunities for children, youth, and families involved with the Kawartha-Haliburton Children’s Aid Society.
“Children and youth in care need our support to be able to participate in life-enhancing opportunities and experiences such as attending summer camp, taking music and dance lessons, or participating in after-school athletic programs,” says Carrie Truman, Executive Director of the Kawartha-Haliburton Children’s Foundation. “We looked for a partner to make our vision for a long-term stable fund that would help us achieve our goals and that’s what we found with the Community Foundation.”
“A core strength of the Community Foundation is our ability to connect local need with good-hearted people who really want to help,” says Jennifer DeBues, Executive Director of the Community Foundation. “Hosting a fund allows Kawartha-Haliburton Children’s Foundation to focus on making a difference in the lives of the children, youth and families they serve, while the Community Foundation stewards the endowment that will help sustain their work for years to come.”
