Child Welfare Worker – After Hours – Perm FT – (required to travel to all 3 counties – Peterborough, Lindsay and Haliburton)

Description

The After-Hours Worker responds to all calls immediately. Based on assessment of the presenting problem, the After Hours Worker provides service as per the Child and Family Services Act and Agency Policy and Procedure; provides investigations, assessment as needed and transfers information as required; maintains positive working relationships with police and other community resources and foster homes.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS
• MSW or BSW preferred.
• Will consider educational equivalency within the following criteria:
• University Degree with such courses as psychology, sociology, child development, family studies, etc. and
• A two year diploma in social service, child development, etc. and
• Experience in child welfare or closely related field. and
• Any training specific to the field of child protection.
• Experience with CPIN is considered an asset
• Valid Ontario Drivers License
