Internal, Regional, and Sector Initiatives

In the Fall of 2019, KHCAS launched an equity council, made up of staff across the organization working together to advance our equity practices. The Equity Council acts as an advisory body to the Executive Director, with a reciprocal relationship ensuring accountability and follow through with the work and recommendations.  The Equity Council champions equity in all facets of our organization, including policy and practice, the workplace, and the service we provide to the community.

KHCAS has also partnered with the other CASs in the Eastern Zone to share ideas, resources, and support regionally. We are pleased to have César Ndema-Moussa as our Regional Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, who works with our internal equity lead Alison Rodgers and the Eastern Zone Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Advisory Council to advance this important work.

Additionally, two members of our equity council are members of the Anti-Oppression Roundtable (AOR) at OACAS. The AOR brings together leaders in equity across the province as we work together to not only advance work in our respective agencies, but across the sector/province.
